Leonardo da Vinci: The Visionary Who Painted the Future
Before the Renaissance bloomed across Europe, before science and art were seen as separate worlds, one man was already weaving them together. Leonardo da Vinci (1452–1519), born in Vinci, Italy, did not merely observe the world, he dissected it, sketched it, and dreamed it into existence. His curiosity knew no bounds, and his notebooks became portals into a mind centuries ahead of its time.
Leonardo’s genius was not confined to a single discipline. He painted, sculpted, engineered, and theorized with equal mastery. In works like The Last Supper and Mona Lisa, he captured human emotion with subtle precision, transforming the way the world saw expression and perspective. Yet beyond the canvas, he studied anatomy, flight, hydraulics, and mechanics, sketching flying machines and armored vehicles long before technology could make them real. Where others saw the ordinary, he saw mechanisms, patterns, and possibilities waiting to be discovered. His approach to learning was revolutionary. Leonardo combined observation with imagination, science with art, creating a blueprint for creativity that inspires to this day. His notebooks, filled with sketches, diagrams, and reflections, reveal a mind that never rested, always questioning, always seeking to understand the laws that govern nature. He showed that curiosity is a tool as powerful as paintbrushes or chisels, and that innovation begins with the courage to look deeper.
Leonardo da Vinci reminded the world that genius is not a matter of talent alone, but of insatiable wonder and relentless exploration. His legacy lives in masterpieces that still captivate, in inventions centuries ahead of their time, and in the spirit of discovery that continues to inspire every thinker, artist, and dreamer who dares to imagine the impossible.

The Orchestrated Mind:
How the NPU Redefined the Soul of the PC
Dibbyajoti Chatterjee Kabbya
Executive, Event Management

If you’ve scouted for a new laptop lately, you’ve likely seen the "AI PC" or "Copilot+ PC" stickers. You might have even peeked at your Task Manager and noticed a dedicated slot labeled NPU sitting alongside your CPU and GPU. While we’ve spent decades obsessed with CPU clock speeds and GPU frame rates, the Neural Processing Unit (NPU)has quietly become the most critical component of the modern computing experience.
Decoding the Silicon Alphabet : To understand the NPU, we have to look at its siblings:
The CPU: A brilliant generalist. However, it gets overwhelmed by the massive, repetitive math required for AI, often leading to laptops "cooking" at temperatures above 80°C.
The GPU: A powerhouse for parallel tasks like pixel rendering, but it’s a "gas guzzler" that drains your battery rapidly.
The NPU: The specialist. It is architecturally designed for Matrix Multiplication, the fundamental math behind neural networks. It mimics how human neurones fire, handling tasks like voice recognition or real-time translation while using a fraction of the power.
The Reign of "40 TOPS" : In 2026, we have officially entered the era of the "40 TOPS Club." TOPS (Trillions of Operations Per Second) has replaced GHz as the primary metric for performance. To be classified as a true "AI PC" today, a device needs an NPU capable of at least 45 TOPS.
Leading the charge in 2026:
Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Elite: Featuring a massive 80 TOPS NPU, setting the benchmark for mobile efficiency.
Intel Core Ultra Series 3: Built on the 18A process, delivering 50 TOPS and up to 27 hours of battery life.
Apple M5/A19: Continuing to push the limits of local "Apple Intelligence" processing.
Why It Matters for You? For students, creators, and professionals, the NPU offers three major advantages:
Extreme Battery Life: Moving tasks like background noise cancellation from the GPU to the NPU can save 2+ hours of battery during long sessions. (Fun fact: MacBooks have been doing this for years behind the scenes!)
Edge AI & Privacy: The NPU allows AI to run locally. Your data doesn’t need to be sent to a cloud server, keeping your coding projects and personal files private.
Creative Speed: From upscaling graphics in games to generating digital art, the NPU makes complex tasks feel instantaneous. If you’ve ever used a game engine, the AI upscaling you see is largely handled here.
The CPU isn't going anywhere; it is simply becoming the "conductor" of an orchestra, while the NPU handles the heavy lifting of our AI-driven lives. In 2026, we don’t just buy "fast" computers anymore; we buy "smart" ones. Performance is no longer just about cycles, it’s about the harmony between the conductor and the performers.
AI vs AI: The Future of Cyber DefenceMahir Dyan Executive, Human Resources ![]() In today’s world, technology is deeply integrated into daily life. From communication and education to banking and government, digital systems play a vital role. As dependence on technology increases, cybersecurity has become a global priority. It focuses on protecting networks, software, and sensitive data from unauthorized access and cyberattacks. In the past, cybersecurity was a quiet struggle between skilled experts and attackers. However, the rise of artificial intelligence, especially large language models, is changing this landscape. Experts now imagine a future where artificial intelligence both protects systems and helps attack them. This has led to what many call an AI versus AI scenario. Intelligent systems can monitor networks, detect unusual activity, and respond to threats in real time. At the same time, malicious actors may use artificial intelligence to find vulnerabilities and exploit them. Tasks that once required teams of experts may now be automated by fast and powerful systems.Artificial intelligence offers significant advantages in cybersecurity. Modern systems generate vast amounts of data every second, making it difficult for humans to analyse everything. Artificial intelligence can process this data quickly and identify hidden patterns, helping detect threats early. It can also assist in analysing system logs, summarising threat reports, and improving response time. Generative artificial intelligence also helps developers create more secure software. It can analyse code, identify weaknesses, and suggest safer practices. This allows organisations to strengthen their systems before attackers can exploit them. However, these benefits come with risks. The same technology can be misused. Artificial intelligence can generate phishing messages, automate attacks, and create harmful programs. This reduces the level of expertise needed to carry out cyberattacks and increases potential threats. Another concern is the vulnerability of artificial intelligence itself. Techniques such as prompt injection can manipulate systems into leaking information or ignoring safeguards. As artificial intelligence becomes more connected to important systems, these risks may have serious consequences. As artificial intelligence continues to evolve, cybersecurity may become a competition between intelligent systems. Defensive systems will work to predict and prevent attacks, while offensive systems will attempt to bypass protections. From a personal perspective, this future is both promising and concerning. Artificial intelligence is a powerful tool, but it should not replace human expertise. Skilled professionals are still necessary to guide and control these technologies responsibly. In the end, the future of cybersecurity depends on how artificial intelligence is managed. If used carefully, it can create a safer digital environment. If not, it may introduce new challenges and risks. | Progression of Science with AI, Multidimensional Phones, and Quantum ComputingTasfia Mashiat Executive, Press Release and Publications The future of technology is no longer a distant idea.
